IN SHORT ...
Padraig McManamon is an Irish musician, singer, and songwriter currently living in Hessen, Germany. At the age of 47 he decided to get back into music which was absent from his life for nearly 20 years. With a passion for rhythm and melodies, he has devoted the last few years to creating captivating music that resonates with listeners both live and on stream.
BEGINNINGS
Though the beginnings were difficult, Padraig stuck with it and went back music lessons and vocal coaching, where vocal coaching still plays an important role for him. The work paid off and his passion for writing songs soon emerged.
Through his unique and authentic voice and skillful songwriting, Padraig enchants audiences, delving into various genres and crafting unforgettable tunes. As an accomplished musician, he continues to inspire and express his artistic vision through his evolving musical journey.
RELEASES
Padraig released his Debut Album “Where I’m From” in February 2022 and his second studio recording, the EP “Out of This Mess” in June 2023. The songs on the EP and his Debut Album are all personal and „me“ as he says. With the exception of two covers on the EP and one song on the Debut album, all songs were written by Padraig (words, music, arrangement).
Two singles followed, the single "I Am" in November 2023 and the single "Muchacho (for Jano)" in March 2024.

December 2022 saw the set up of our official Band - Padraig McManamon and Band.
Accompanying Padraig are:
Oliver Jost on Bass Guitar. Oliver is a native of Langen. Since his early childhood he was an advocate accordeon player. Approximately 15 years ago he then discovered his new passion, Bass Guitar. Since then he has been in various bands, including his long time band Betty O Beat from Frankfurt, to which Oliver introduced Padraig some time ago. Padraig and Oliver are playing together since 2016.
Martin Delto is guitarist and violinist from Obertshausen and enjoys playing in various music directions - whether rock or Jazz, he plays with his heart and soul!
Frank Vieweger joined us as our drummer / percussionist in December 2022 and made his first appearance with us in the Goldene Krone in Darmstadt on 18th March 2023.
A Four Piece Band ...
From small beginnings where Padraig started off by himself, then along came Oliver and accompanied him on bass guitar. For a while, they called themselves "NewDirection". After a while, they didn't like the name, and as well as that, they wanted to grow.
... That Enjoys Making Music
It didn't take long until Martin came along, a multi talent who plays fantastic guitar solos, both acoustic and on the electric guitar, and on top of all that he loves playing the violin.
Originals and Covers
November 2022 we started looking for a percussionist and drummer, and we didn't have to look for long. After a widespread ad on the Meta universe, we mutually agreed that we could work well together. Frank joined the group and from then on we called ourselves "Padraig McManamon and Band".
The band play originals songs by Padraig and also well known covers from the last four decades.
